When Life is in the Way.

This week, I have been having a hard time of not letting life get in the way of my workouts. I.E, the husband has a dinner with co-workers so I have to miss spin class; my mother-in-law has a conflict so she can’t watch the kids for me (and did I mention that my littlest one will.not.do. the kidcare at the gym? That is, unless I want to hear my name called over the loudspeaker because he won’t stop screaming…) and then there is the first school meeting for the year on the night of my other spin class –the one I was already supposed to make up from earlier in the week –  and well, yada yada yada, the week feels shot.

Oh yes, and well, I could have gone to the gym last night because the night was actually free, but oh, it stormed, the heavens opened up and yada yada yada, so did our skylight. In the form of tiny buckets all over the place on the floor to catch the rain inside the house. Lovely.

Why, universe, why?

How do you rebound from that?

Seriously.

When the week feels like it’s in such a disarray and the universe is out to sabotage your workouts??? And your event is rapidly approaching the THREE WEEK MARK and oh, you start to get a little panicky inside…

Since I do 5-6 workouts a week, and with all this chaos, I have only so far missed two, it follows that I cannot absolutely cannot miss another one this week. So, how I will rebound is as follows:

-After the school meeting tonight, husband and I are having date night. We decided on an uber-romantic place called: the gym. (Hey the couple who plays together stays together, right??) Yes we are. We’re going to do some bench-pressing and some swimming. This actually kills two birds with one stone, actually three if I count the fact that I am too shy to try some of the freeweight equipment on my own so I will purposely make us do those so I can do them myself unabashedly during a solo workout! See? Win win!

-I will workout Friday whether my mother-in-law comes over or not. If she doesn’t, it will require more coffee, but so be it.

-I will have to workout Saturday and Sunday and it will likely be cramming two runs and two bikes in, but that’ll hafta do. I have a deadline after all.

So that’s the plan. And the key here will be the follow-through. As long as the universe cooperates.

LOL mine “dumbs it down” for me. he knows he's better than me but pretends he isn't, even going as far as “letting” me win. equally as infuriating!!!! hahaha
